From lonely to grateful this festive season

Hey you!

I just love December, everything and everyone feels so festive and happy. The twinkling lights, the laughter, and the excitement all just make me feel so joyful.

This year, my husband, me, and my son are spending Christmas alone. You see my hubby got a transfer to a different city and we are waiting in limbo for our moving date which is probably going to be the first week of January. What this means is that we are unable to go home to our families and most of our expat friends are away on holiday. But instead of feeling totally sad and depressed about it, I have decided to make it as special as I can for the 3 of us, because let's face it, it could have been so much worse!

So this year I have decorated my tree with the names of all our loved ones on it. I got this amazing recipe from Pinterest (check it our here) for baking soda and cornstarch Christmas Ornaments. I made these two years ago and just added a few names. I am so impressed that these ornaments are still holding up and they were sooo easy to make.

The day of Christmas is all about the dinner table for me, I love decorating a table - as some of you might know I do have a bit of experience in the event industry so my love for table décor will never go away.

This year I am going for warmer tones and natural elements, share your ideas with me by tagging me on Instagram or Facebook | @fingerprintinteriorshomedecor

My goals for 2023 is to live each day with purpose, in spite of the circumstances. And my guiding light is to look at the Fruits Of The Spirit every morning as I wake up, and try and focus on following that map and asking myself the following 9 questions as many times as possible.

How can I LOVE unconditionally?

How can I be totally JOYFUL?

What does perfect PEACE look like?

How do I practice PATIENCE?

What does it mean to be truly KIND?

What does GOODNESS look like?

How can I be truly GENTLE with my words?

What do I need more SELF CONTROL with?

How do I practice FAITHFULNESS?

As a reminder of my commitment to these 9 principles, I have made extra baking soda ornaments with the 9 fruits on them.

I truly hope you have a very blessed, very merry, and joyful festive season!

Hugs and love,
Liezle
